Theory was that, since the fight up to this point is so hard, and there was already one unusual checkpoint in the fight, there would be another once you successfully restarted time.

Once all that is done, the timelines branch, and, uh, this happens. He then must be healed, protected, and a spear that’s slowly killing him DPS’d to prevent his death.

You can see it in action here, but the short version is that you need to go back with your Limit Break bar full – impossible in the first version of the fight at the start of the instance – then use it to save Haurchefant. Over the course of yesterday the tricks to rewinding time, saving Haurchefant, and beginning what the game dubs the “Alternate Dragonsong War” were figured out. Multiple, difficult, in-sequence DPS checks, puzzles to solve, and the beginning of what people believe is only the second half of the fight is proving the exact challenge that was promised – long, arduous, and a real race.

Update 29/04: Dragonsong’s Reprise is proving to be one of Final Fantasy 14’s hardest-ever challenges as progress slowed to a crawl yesterday. Zeppe Monado claims it took approximately 624 attempts, give or take 100 pulls where nobody was keeping track before the team finished Dragonsong’s Reprise.Įvery Haurchefant fan is surely green with envy over that “As Suits a Hero” achievement. The fight takes roughly 18 minutes if everything goes smoothly, though nailing everything is ridiculously difficult. Over on Reddit, Team Neverland’s Zeppe Monado took the time to answer several questions from onlookers that are still going wild over Dragonsong’s Reprise progression. It took about six days for the raiding group to finish Dragonsong’s Reprise, which came out on April 26, 2022. Update 02/05: The race is over, as Team Neverland cleared Dragonsong’s Reprise on May 2, 2022, as confirmed on Twitter. We’ll bring you coverage of it, assuming it’s interesting. More hard content will come in 6.2 with the release of the next Savage raid, though it won’t be anywhere near this scale.
Nidhogg extreme unlock Patch#
The next is expected later on this expansion, either in patch 6.3 or 6.5. That’s likely a wrap on major news surrounding the Ultimate. There is extremely few sour grapes, though clearly they’re disappointed. It came down to consistency, essentially Dragonsong’s Reprise biggest test, as well as a few hours spent chasing the wrong strats. Meanwhile various TpS members have taken to Twitter to talk about their troubles with the fight.

Dragonsong’s Reprise has two pedals but they both say accelerate, you know? In essence, usually the game gives you a break. Here’s Arthars, one of the furthest progressed streaming players, with a mini-explanation. This is, by far, the hardest content in Final Fantasy 14, and some have gone as far as calling it the hardest content in any MMO that was actually intended to be beaten. That’s behind the first one added to the game, when players were significantly worse, weren’t expecting the difficulty spike, and the ‘trick’ to clearing it (like saving Haurchefant this time around) was esoteric and unknown. The level of difficulty has also been a major topic of discussion – this is now the second longest clear time for an Ultimate in the game’s history. It’s also our first proper look at the final phase transition and boss model, alongside the lower definition video from the Radiance/TpS Twitter account. Perhaps more interestingly, here’s the team’s first reactions to each phase transition – in a fight with what feels like 300 of them. For the unfamiliar, this is a recording of comms during and after the final few percentage points of HP on the last boss/phase of a particularly difficult encounter in an MMO. There’s also been some on-going analysis from various parties about the structure and difficulty of the raid and why so many folks are having so much trouble – especially in light of favourites Thoughts per Second and other groups still failing to clear.įirst, here’s the traditional nerdscreams video from Neverland.

Update 03/05: With the raid now cleared, a few different bits and pieces of video have come out from the first and so far only team to beat Dragonsong’s Reprise, Neverland.
