If tunnelled, multiple RDP sessions can be established using the same tunnel.RDP can be tunnelled via HTTPS for greater session reliability and security.UDP and TCP transmission options (can switch depending on bandwidth).Administration using Group Policy and Horizon Smart Policies (UEM).Simplified firewall management compared to PCoIP.BEAT – Blast Extreme Adaptive Transport – optimised for high latency low bandwidth networks.Cannot be used with zero-client PCoIP based endpoints (such as Tera1/2).Recommended by VMware for most use cases.JPG/PNG codec when using HTML Access (Google Chrome can be configured to use H.264).H.264 codec when using Horizon Client 4.0+.AES-128 encryption by default, can be changed to AES-192 or AES-256.Can offload processing to Apex 2800 hardware cards.Requires more client processing than Blast Extreme.Supports compression and decompression (lossless, build-to-lossless).Use Ethemeral port allocation for linked-clones – allows for port creation when vCenter is unavailable.Make sure port groups that desktops will attach to have enough ports. Objective 5.1 – Plan and Design Network Requirements for Horizon solutions (including Mirage and Workspace One) Depending on the access requirements, components such as Security Servers or Unified Access Gateways will need to be designed and deployed, inlcuding firewall rules and possibly load balancing.įor the 3V0-752 exam, you will be expected to analyse network requirements within a design, match these to the correct components and identify benefits, limitations and configuration options for PCoIP and Blast Extreme.

A number of factors need to be considered including which display protocol to use, access scenarios such remote or internal (LAN), encryption levels for server communication and Quality of Service configuration. Networking requirements for Horizon deployments can be very complex. In this post we’ll look at Section 5 of the Exam Guide – Create a Physical Design for Horizon Networking.
